For the first time in years, Beyoncé has shared a music video. Well, sort of: The new short, titled “Beywatch” and released on U.S. Election Day, presents her in a Halloween get-up as Pamela Anderson, singing along to an edit of the Cowboy Carter track “Bodyguard,” and encouraging people to vote, before wishing us a happy “Beylloween.” Watch it go down below.
Beyoncé’s last music videos were excerpted from her visual album Black Is King, as were their predecessors from the Lemonade film. Her last standalone solo music video was for “Formation,” in 2015, though she has appeared in some advertisements soundtracked by her songs.
The release of “Beywatch” follows her appearance last month at a Kamala Harris rally in Houston, where she and former Destiny’s Child bandmate Kelly Rowland delivered a speech advocating for the Democratic nominee and, in particular, for reproductive freedom. She had previously granted permission for Harris to play her music (namely the Lemonade track “Freedom”) at campaign events—an honor denied to former President Donald J. Trump.
