Watch the Trailer for Hulu’s New King of the Hill Revival

The long-in-the-works King of the Hill revival is nearly here, and now fans can get a better look at what to expect with an official trailer. The video reintroduces the Hill family in the context of the modern day, where Zoom meetings, rideshare apps, craft beer, and all-gender bathroom signs throw them for a loop. Watch the first preview of the new season below.

The new season of King of the Hill will premiere on Hulu on Monday, August 4. While the wait for Mike Judge’s beloved TV show to return has been a long one—this revival has been in the works since a preliminary conversation in 2017—there’s been a number of previews in recent months, including the credit sequence reveal, some fatherly advice from Hank Hill, and another scene snippet at the George W. Bush museum.

King of the Hill ran for 13 seasons between 1997 and 2010. It follows the lives of the nuclear Hill family and their neighbors in suburban Texas, and was heralded for its ability to poke fun at most everyone while maintaining a comforting, easygoing tone. During that original run, Tom Petty voiced the character Elroy “Lucky” Kleinschmidt, while a number of other musicians featured guest turns, like Tammy Wynette, Willie Nelson, Gwen Stefani, the Chicks, and ZZ Top’s Dusty Hill.

The forthcoming 14th season of King of the Hill picks up with the Hill family after they relocated back to their Texan town. The plot summary reads: “After years working a propane job in Saudi Arabia to earn their retirement nest egg, Hank and Peggy Hill return to a changed Arlen, Texas, to reconnect with old friends Dale, Boomhauer, and Bill. Meanwhile, Bobby is living his dream as a chef in Dallas and enjoying his twenties with his former classmates Connie, Joseph, and Chane.”
