Animal Collective Share New Song “Buddies on the Blackboard”: Listen


Last month, Animal Collective digitally released “Love on the Big Screen,” and they’ve now shared its B-Side. Today’s new song, “Buddies on the Blackboard,” is a psychedelic daydream set to a dub beat. Listen to it below.

“Love on the Big Screen” and “Buddies on the Blackboard” will be released together on a 7″ vinyl single that’s out on August 1 via Domino. Both tracks were produced by Avey Tare and Drop of Sun Studios founder Adam McDaniel. They were also mixed and engineered by McDaniel, while the mastering was done by Dave Cooley.

Animal Collective’s most recent studio album, Isn’t It Now?, came out in 2023, while the band’s Panda Bear put out his own solo LP, Sinister Grift, this past March.
