The first trailer for Spike Lee’s new movie, Highest 2 Lowest, is here. A$AP Rocky stars alongside Denzel Washington, Jeffrey Wright, Ilfenesh Hadera, and Ice Spice in the crime movie, which arrives in theaters on August 15 and comes to Apple TV+ on September 5. Rocky also soundtracked the film. Watch the trailer below.
Highest 2 Lowest is a reinterpretation of the Akira Kurosawa classic High and Low. Lee’s take involves a music-industry ransom plot that plays out on the streets of New York (and in an apartment modeled after Kurosawa’s original). A teaser came out in May ahead of the film’s recent premiere at Cannes. A24 and Apple Original Productions produced the movie, which is the feature debut from screenwriter Alan Fox.
