Edith Frost Returns With First Album in 19 Years, Shares Video for New Song: Watch

Edith Frost will return on February 28, 2025, with her first album in 19 years. In Space, the Drag City singer-songwriter’s follow-up to 2005’s It’s a Game, features contributions from Califone’s Jim Becker, Finom’s Sima Cunningham, Bill MacKay, and Jeff Ragsdale, with arrangements by Mark Greenberg and Rian Murphy. Watch the video for the single “Hold On,” compiled and edited from New York subway footage by Simon Russell, below.

In the 20 years since It’s a Game, Frost has mostly kept a low profile, with two notable exceptions: Her 2020 EP Nothing Comes Around, and, two years later, her streak on the social media platform then known as Twitter, which banned her for changing her username to “Elon Musk” and tweeting scatological absurdisms such as, “Twitter is the greatest social network on earth! For me to poop on.” Frost responded, “I think I was just getting so frustrated with his man-baby antics. Twitter is OURS to ruin, dammit!” In the end, she switched to using the alternative social media platform Mastodon.
