They Are Gutting a Body of Water Share Video for New Song “RL Stine”: Watch

They Are Gutting a Body of Water have shared another new song from Lotto, their upcoming album. “RL Stine” gets a music video, directed by Richard Phillip Smith, comprising hundreds of photos spliced into a montage of city street sidewalks, carved tree bark, and abandoned items alongside blurry footage of the Philadelphia shoegaze band playing live. Watch it below.

“There is a guy who I see every day near my house,” bandleader Doug Dulgarian explained of the new song. “I always buy him a pack of Newport hundreds, knowing full well that he will trade it for crack. I wonder sometimes if it’s the addict in me, enabling the addict in him, or if I just fully understand his struggle. Perhaps we’re the same after all.”

“RL Stine” is the fourth song They Are Gutting a Body of Water have shared from Lotto ahead of its release on October 17. It follows “American Food,” “Trainers,” and “The Chase.”

After releasing the new LP, They Are Gutting a Body of Water will embark on a long North American tour. It starts on October 30 in Cleveland, Ohio, and then brings the band across major cities in the United Sstates and Canada. It’s currently slated to conclude on December 12 in the group’s Philadelphia hometown. Check out the band’s complete list of tour dates below.
