Anjimile has announced a new album. You’re Free to Go, the North Carolina singer-songwriter’s follow-up to The King, was produced by Brad Cook. It’s out March 13 via 4AD. Caity Arthur directed the roller disco-themed music video for lead single “Like You Really Mean It.” Watch it below.
“I wrote this to make my girlfriend want to give me a kiss,” Anjimile said in a press statement. “We live about an hour apart, and I was just by myself thinking about her. Thinking about wanting a kiss. What could I do to get a kiss from my sweetheart? Write a song about it! Anyway, it worked.”
The King came out in 2023. Last year, Anjimile shared the one-off single “Auld Lang Syne II,” also produced by Cook.
