Tomahawk have reunited for a U.S. summer tour. The Melvins–backed dates are the first in 13 years for the supergroup, which comprises Faith No More’s Mike Patton, the Jesus Lizard’s Duane Dension, Battles’ John Stanier, and Mr. Bungle’s Trevor Dunn. Check out the itinerary below.
Dension said in a press release, “In the spirit of the Olympics, Team Tomahawk has decided to rise up and go for the gold once again—also competing will be our cohorts the Melvins.”
Buzz Osborne added, “This tour is a no brainer. I can’t wait. A Melvins/Tomahawk trek will be a stone groove.” He’ll be playing in a four-piece Melvins incarnation alongside Dale Crover, Steven McDonald, and Coady Willis.
Tomahawk released three albums in their 2000s run, initially playing with Melvins bassist Kevin Rutmanis. His replacement, Dunn, was appointed in time for a 2013 reunion album, Oddfellows, and the band regrouped again in 2021 for Tonic Immobility, a pandemic album that was never performed live.
