2nd Grade Announce New Album Girls and Boys

Philadelphia indie rock band 2nd Grade have an album on the way. Girls and Boys is out October 30 via Lame-O Records. The record includes the previously released “Cellophane Girls” and a new single, “Anywhere Girls,” out today. Listen to that below.

The 20-track album is split into 10 songs about “girls” and 10 about “boys,” with half sung by guitarist Catherine Dwyer, and the others led by singer Peter Gill. “As Peter and I were going through the demos he made for Girls and Boys, deciding who would sing lead on which song, I was immediately drawn to ‘Anywhere Girls,’” Dwyer said in a press statement. “A catchy upbeat standout in a tracklist packed with catchy upbeat standouts. I quickly realized how detailed, how full of large and unfamiliar intervals the melody was, how difficult Peter’s phrasing was to duplicate at high speed.”

Girls and Boys is the group’s first album since 2024’s Scheduled Explosions.
