Jeff Parker and the ETA IVtet Announce New Album The Way Out of Easy, Share Video: Watch

Jeff Parker and his ETA IVtet have announced a new album. The Way Out of Easy is out November 22 and features four pieces of improvised jazz, totaling 80 minutes. The first preview of the album is “Late Autumn,” which arrives with a music video directed by Mikel Patrick Avery, featuring footage of mobile toy sculptures built by the artist himself. Watch it below.

The ETA IVtet—guitarist Parker, saxophonist Josh Johnson, double bassist Anna Butterss, and drummer Jay Bellerose—take their name from the Los Angeles cocktail bar where they held a weekly residency from 2016 until it closed in December of last year. Their 2022 album, Mondays at Enfield Tennis Academy, was culled from recordings of several sessions at the venue. The new album, in contrast, was recorded and live-mixed, at the bar, in one evening in January 2023.
