LCD Soundsystem Readying New Album, Primavera Sound Says

A new LCD Soundsystem album appears to be around the corner. After returning this week with their first song in two years, “X-Ray Eyes,” James Murphy and the band are readying the American Dream follow-up—that is, at least, according to Primavera Sound festival, which LCD Soundsystem will play next year in Barcelona. A press release announcing the lineup suggested the record could arrive in time for the early June festival dates, though LCD Soundsystem’s representatives offered no comment.

“X-Ray Eyes” premiered Tuesday on NTS Radio DJ Anu’s show (listen from the 19:40 mark at the link), marking their first release since “New Body Rhumba” from the White Noise movie. That aside, the band has mostly been playing residencies—in New York, London, Boston, and Philadelphia—as well as various festival dates. Its sole longer release since American Dream was Electric Lady Sessions.
