Studio Announce West Coast Reissue, Share New “Origin” Video: Watch

Studio will reissue their debut album, West Coast, via Ghostly International on January 24, 2025. The cult Swedish duo has also shared a new video for “Origin,” from the record, which you can watch below. The reissue comes on LP, cassette, and mini-disc, and will bring the record to streaming services for the first time.

Released in 2006, West Coast originally came out on the duo of art school graduates Dan Lissvik and Rasmus Hägg’s own Information label, before compilation LP Yearbook 1 helped spread the word beyond the band’s native Gothenburg the following year. (Pitchfork named it among the best albums of 2007, saying it offered “impossible visions of Can making a Happy Mondays tribute album or the Cure backed by Fela Kuti.”) A formal follow-up never materialized, though a remix-focused compilation, Yearbook 2, came out in 2008.
