Oscars 2025: A Complete Unknown, Wicked, and More Nominated for Best Picture


The Best Picture nominees for the 2025 Academy Awards are here. Up for the award are James Mangold’s Bob Dylan biopic A Complete Unknown, the Wicked adaptation starring Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo, architectural epic The Brutalist, and more. See the full list of nominees below. The ceremony takes place on March 2 at Ovation Hollywood’s Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles.

Among the frontrunners not to make the cut were Jesse Eisenberg’s Holocaust tour movie A Real Pain and the Bryan Dessner–scored Sing Sing.

Last year, Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer ruled over the 2024 main event, winning not only Best Picture but also Best Director, Best Leading Actor for Cillian Murphy, and Best Supporting Actor for Robert Downey Jr.
