John Lennon and Yoko Ono Documentary One to One Gets First Trailer: Watch

One to One: John & Yoko, a new documentary from director Kevin Macdonald, goes behind the curtain of John Lennon and Yoko Ono’s lives in Greenwich Village in the early 1970s, culminating in newly restored footage of the couple’s 1972 concerts at Madison Square Garden. Below, watch the first trailer for the film, ahead of its wide release on Imax on April 11.

The two-night One to One benefit concerts were not only Lennon and Ono’s sole full shows together (back by Plastic Ono Elephant’s Memory Band), but also Lennon’s first and only post-Beatles concerts. Sean Ono Lennon produced and remixed the concert audio for the movie, which also collages together home movies and phone calls, as well as footage of an intricate reconstruction of the couple’s Bank Street apartment and snippets of 1970s television.
