Freddie Gibbs and the Alchemist Detail Alfredo 2, Share New Song and Short Film: Watch


Freddie Gibbs and the Alchemist have announced that their new album Alfredo 2 is out on July 25. Featured on the sequel to 2020’s Alfredo are Anderson .Paak, Larry June, and JID. Listen to the album’s opening track, “1995,” below.

To go with the new album, Gibbs and the Alchemist have shared a short film directed by Nick Walker and filmed in Japan. In it, the Alchemist convinces a reluctant and reclusive Gibbs to return to Tokyo from the mountains. Back in the Japanese capital, the rapper is tasked with difficult decisions. Watch the video below.

Gibbs and the Alchemist were nominated for Best Rap Album at the 2021 Grammy Awards for Alfredo. The rapper and producer shared their first collaborative effort, Fetti, back in 2018.
