Watch My Chemical Romance Debut New Song “War Beneath the Rain”

My Chemical Romance gave “War Beneath the Rain,” a song written before their breakup, its live debut on Saturday night (July 26), as Stereogum notes. Performing at Los Angeles’ Dodger Stadium, Gerard Way said they had laid down the track at a studio in North Hollywood for “a record that never came out.” He added, “This was one of the songs we really loved from it. It was just us in the studio with our friend [the late studio engineer] Doug McKean—he was there recording it. His family’s here tonight. I want this to go out to them.” Watch fan footage below.

My Chemical Romance are in the midst of a North American tour, with support acts including Pixies, Death Cab for Cutie, Devo, Garbage, Alice Cooper, and Evanescence. The “Long Live” the Black Parade Tour heads south in early 2026 for shows in Mexico, Colombia, Peru, Chile, Argentina, and Brazil. Southeast Asian dates follow next April.
