Carly Pearce was rushed to the hospital recently after she cut her hand open.
Pearce posted a TikTok explaining the incident, and she made it lighthearted.
“Get ready with me with one hand,” she says, beginning to explain why there is a large bandage on her right thumb in the clip.
“So last night I was getting ready to eat dinner after my show, and I went to open a bottle of ranch dressing, and when I went to open the bottle of ranch, it snapped off and a piece of glass cut my thumb,” Pearce explains.
So, her mealtime turned bloody.
“All of a sudden I thought ketchup was running down my hand and it actually was blood.”
The “I Hope You’re Happy Now” singer was at the VOA Country Music Festival in Butler County, Ohio, on Aug. 7, presumably at the catering tent when she approached the ranch dressing with high hopes.
Pearce went on to say that she thought it was not a big deal, but paramedics on site believed she’d sliced her hand pretty deep, so she might need stitches at the hospital.
She was told it wouldn’t take long because she could ride in the ambulance, so she took the ride, but she wasn’t aware of the policy that she had to be strapped onto a stretcher and loaded into the back.
To say she was embarrassed that all of this was due to ranch dressing is an understatement, you can tell by her tone and body language in the video.
“It is interesting trying to figure out how to do these normal things, like pull your pants up after you pee,” she jokes now.
Pearce says she will be better in a few weeks.
However, she’ll have to get creative for her upcoming concerts to figure out how to hold the microphone. The cut is on her dominant hand and the one she uses most while performing.
Pearce’s next concert is at the Pacific Coast Amphitheater, in Costa Mesa, Calif. on August 14.
