Tyler, the Creator and Timothée Chalamet Star in First Trailer for New Movie Marty Supreme: Watch

In 2018, on “Okra,” Tyler, the Creator rapped, “Tell Tim Chalamet to come get at me.” Well, the actor’s finally taken the rapper up on his offer. The first trailer for Marty Supreme—director Josh Safdie’s new A24 film that stars Timothée Chalamet as table tennis star Marty Mauser—is here, and it features Chalamet, Tyler, the Creator (credited as Tyler Okonma), Gwyneth Paltrow, Fran Drescher, and others. Watch it below.

Josh Safdie co-wrote Marty Supreme with Ronald Bronstein, a writer on Good Time, Uncut Gems, and more. It’s the first feature film that Safdie has not co-directed with his younger brother, Benny, since his 2008 debut, The Pleasure of Being Robbed. The new movie—out December 25—will feature original music from longtime Safdie collaborator Daniel Lopatin.

Tyler, the Creator has acted over the years—primarily in his own projects, Loiter Squad, and numerous music videos, like the newly released clip for “Sugar on My Tongue”—but Marty Supreme brings him his first major film role. Marty Supreme is also the first big project from Timothée Chalamet since he played Bob Dylan in A Complete Unknown.
