New Mixes From Frankie Knuckles, Andrew Weatherall, and More Unearthed for Resident Advisor Series: Listen

Resident Advisor is celebrating the 1,000th installment of its RA Podcast by sharing previously unreleased mixes from late electronic music icons Frankie Knuckles and Andrew Weatherall. The Knuckles music comes from two mixes from his personal archives, recorded in 1989 and 1996. Weatherall’s set—a B2B with DJ Harvey—was captured in 2012. And, along with the posthumous entries, Resident Advisor is sharing music from Bicep, Helena Hauff, Theo Parrish, and others. Find the newly unearthed music below.

The RA Podcast launched in 2006. In a statement, Resident Advisor’s editor and head of editorial, Gabriel Szatan, remarked, “Life in 2006 seems very far away, a blur of MSN, MySpace, and minimal techno.” He continued, “When the series launched, there wasn’t any explicit intention to rival the BBC Essential Mix for longevity, impact, and breadth, but that’s more or less what happened anyway. Having set ourselves the ambition of going 10 for RA.1000, we’re thrilled with how it turned out. An enormous thanks to all artists for their contributions; not only for the 1000th mix, but across the series’ history. Being able to give so many transformative DJs and electronic artists their flowers in real time is a proud moment for us at RA. As for those we couldn’t make happen this time round: see you for RA.2000?”
