In an indie music landscape overflowing with emerging artists, The Stews have recently captured my attention in a big way, and clearly, I am not the only one. If you have not yet discovered The Stews, their indie rock and alternative sound is making waves, and their live shows are attracting more fans at every gig. Their latest single, “Make it Out,” is a great introduction to their sound, and their live show captures their magic and kinetic energy. Their melodies are infectious, and I can hear the influences of bands such as Kings of Leon, The Allman Brothers Band, and even Audioslave.
From College Band to Sold Out Shows
The Stews were formed at Auburn University in the fall of 2020. They ultimately left school to pursue high-octane rock full time in response to the demand for their live shows. The band consists of Preston Hall (lead vocals, lead guitar), Blake Dobbs (rhythm guitar), Bennett Baugus (bass guitar), and Wyatt Griffith (drums, backing vocals).
The Stews emerged within the southeastern rock scene in 2021 and have experienced a steady rise. They’re now selling out venues in New York City, Washington D.C., and have played at well-known festivals such as Bonnaroo and Lollapalooza.
Captivating Live Performances and Music Releases
The Stews are most well known for their electric live performances and raving fanbase that grows at every stop. The band is perpetually touring, picking up new fans at every stop, and are currently touring out west through November, then playing at the Okeechobee Music and Arts Festival in Florida in March of 2026. Their full tour schedule can be found here.
The Stews have been writing, recording, and releasing music, matching the high energy of their entire vibe. Their debut album What Was came out in 2022, and their latest record, Chicken Fight in 2024 is launching them into a new dimension, coupled with their latest single “Make it Out.”
If you are seeking a band that combines lyrics that resonate, captivating melodies, and an electrifying live experience, check out The Stews. Their music is more than a sound — it feels like a movement gaining velocity in real time.
