Bright Eyes Announce Anniversary Concerts for I’m Wide Awake, It’s Morning and Digital Ash in a Digital Urn

Bright Eyes are celebrating the 21st anniversary of their back-to-back albums I’m Wide Awake, It’s Morning and Digital Ash in a Digital Urn with three special concerts next year. Conor Oberst, Mike Mogis, and Nathaniel Walcott announced they will perform the two albums in full during headlining shows at Colorado’s Red Rocks Amphitheatre, Los Angeles’ Hollywood Bowl, and New York’s Forest Hills Stadium. Find the tour dates below.

Tilly and the Wall, the Moldy Peaches, and Built to Spill are slated to trade off as support acts for the shows. Because Bright Eyes will be playing the two albums in full, they plan to split their set in half, with an “opener” performing at the midpoint each night.

“I have always hated my birthdays but I love parties,” said Oberst. “And I remember being really excited when I turned 21 for obvious reasons. So when the idea came up to celebrate the 21st anniversary of these two records who were born on the same day, Nate, Mike, and I took a long look in our full-length mirror and finally said, ‘Fuck it, why not?’ So we hope you can join us at one of these shows. It will be the three of us and many old friends coming together to make what will hopefully be this magical thing happen. Hope to see you there. We are really excited. Love and light.”

In 2024, Bright Eyes released Five Dice, All Threes, their eleventh studio album, which featured contributions from Cat Power, the National’s Matt Berninger, and the So So Glos’ Alex Orange Drink. They followed it up with this year’s Kids Table EP, an eight-song collection that includes two tracks with Hurray for the Riff Raff’s Alynda Segarra, who the band brought on tour this year.
