Manchester rockers Luna Marble are not a band that was on my radar previously but have been added to my playlist ready after the release of their self-titled debut album!
The opening licks of Running grab you immediately and the vocals from Maria Rico are a breath of fresh air. You can hear the indie tones in her sound. The riffs just over the halfway mark are sick too.
Crazy Loving is a more mellow track, with understated instrumentation to allow Maria’s vocals to be the focal point.
The instrumentation for The Ride is great.
The album ends with a live acoustic of Mad World and it is beautiful.
The album is what you would expect from a rock band, full of guitar riffs, sick drums, bass licks and Maria’s rough vocals (this is not a bad thing, I absolutely love her vocals).
At times, it is difficult to really separate the songs from each other, so if you were listening in the background, it could sound like one big song, but each track holds up well against the others.
