Back in 2022, Daddy Yankee announced his retirement. “I don’t have any plans to go back,” he told Rolling Stone at the time. His plans changed. Earlier this year, Daddy Yankee released his eighth studio album Lamento en Baile. “Having a life of success is different from having a life of purpose,” he told Billboard. “Before, my interest was transforming the industry [through music], and that purpose had to do more with business and money, influence, success. Now my purpose is to transform lives with that same instrument. They’re very different purposes.”

Dick Clark Productions is owned by Penske Media Corporation, which is also the parent company of Rolling Stone.
