Anna Calvi Announces EP, Shares New Video with Iggy Pop

Anna Calvi is releasing a new EP, Is This All There Is? Out March 20, the record features collaborations with Laurie Anderson, Iggy Pop, and Matt Berninger and includes a previously released cover of Bonnie “Prince” Billy’s “I See a Darkness”. Below, watch the video for the project’s lead single with Pop, “God’s Lonely Man.”

Is This All There Is? is the first in a trilogy of records exploring identity and romance. The EP was inspired by Calvi’s transformed outlook after becoming a parent. “Having a child was so transformative it made me consider the possibility that everything in life could potentially shift, and that is scary but incredibly freeing,” she said in a press release. “I didn’t want to take anything for granted any more. I want to exist in the best way for my child. I wanted to ask the most basic human question—is this all there is?”

In recent years Calvi has worked as a TV composer, releasing scores for two seasons of Peaky Blinders in 2023. Calvi put out her last full-length, Hunter, in 2018, as well as a reimagined version of that album, Hunted, in 2020.
