American Football Confirm LP4 | Pitchfork

American Football’s fourth studio album is imminent. The legendary emo band confirmed today, February 18, that LP 4 is due out May 1 on Polyvinyl. Although they haven’t shared any new music from the album yet, you can check out the cover art and full tracklist below.

LP4 follows 2019’s LP3 and 2016’s LP2, the latter of which arrived after a 17-year hiatus. The band released their acclaimed self-titled debut (or LP1) in 1999; in 2024, they celebrated the release’s 25th anniversary with a reissue and a covers version featuring Ethel Cain, Iron & Wine, Manchester Orchestra, and many more. In 2019, the band also released Year One Demos, a collection of recordings from the LP1 sessions, to celebrate the album’s 20th anniversary.

Earlier this month, American Football confirmed an extensive 2026 tour, which will see them traverse North America, Europe, and the UK with support from Mei Seimones, Ian Sweet, Marconi Union, and Afternoon Bike Ride. The band will donate a dollar, pound, or euro from every ticket sale to Safe Passage International and the Illinois Coalition for Immigration & Refugee Rights.
