Lizzo Meets Her Past Self in Video for New Song

Lizzo has shared a new song, “Don’t Make Me Love U.” The singer’s first new release of 2026, it’s paired with a music video that puts her face-to-face with her Cuz I Love You-era Lizzo. Naturally, some big emotions ensue. Check out the video below.

Produced by longtime collaborator Ricky Reed and Cheche Alara, “Don’t Make Me Love U” is Lizzo’s first new song of 2026. Since releasing her most recent album, Special, in 2023, she has shared the singles “Love in Real Life” and “Still Down Bad.” Last year, she also announced an album titled Love in Real Life, although that has yet to receive a release date.

Although Lizzo hasn’t shared a new album since 2023, she’s remained active in other disciplines. In 2025, She was cast to star as Sister Rosetta Tharpe in a forthcoming biopic, which she’ll also co-produce alongside Forest Whitaker and others. She’ll also release her first children’s book, which follows a girl who befriends a flute, in September.
