Anitta Teams Up With Shakira for New Song “Choka Choka”

Anitta and Shakira have teamed up for a new song called “Choka Choka.” It’s the second single from Anitta’s forthcoming album Equilibrivm, following last month’s “Pinterest.” Give it a listen below.

In a press statement, Anitta said that “Choka Choka” “is about a free woman—self-aware, cheeky, complex, and incredibly powerful. Elements that have always been part of my universe.” The song, which was co-produced by veteran Rio de Janiero DJ Papatinho and Nigerian producer Doramola, features verses in both Portuguese and English.

Anitta is set to debut “Choka Choka” live on SNL this Saturday, where she’ll serve as musical guest alongside host Colman Domingo. Out next Thursday, April 16, Equilibrivm follows 2024’s Funk Generation. In June, Shakira will resume the international tour behind her own 2024 album, Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran, with a run of U.S. arena shows, followed by 11 nights in Madrid at a pop-up stadium named in her honor.
