Boards of Canada Drop Two New Songs

After resurfacing with the nebulous “Tape 05” last month, Boards of Canada have shared the opening suite of their new album, Inferno. Comprising two songs in the vintage BoC tradition, “Introit” and “Prophecy at 1420 MHz” also arrive with a new video that advances the staticky VHS aesthetic and cultish symbolism introduced in the album’s monthlong teaser campaign. Watch the Robert Beatty-directed short below, before the album drops on May 29 via Warp.

Inferno is Boards of Canada’s first album in 13 years, following Tomorrow’s Harvest. Since then, the brothers Mike Sandison and Marcus Eoin have trickled out occasional remixes and archival reissues, as well as an NTS DJ mix. The duo has announced seven album premiere parties on May 22—dubbed the Inferno Sessions—in Tokyo, Berlin, Barcelona, London, Glasgow, New York, and Los Angeles.
