REVIEW – S8NT ELEKTRIC – Off the Edge

S8NT ELEKTRIC released debut album Off the Edge on March 20.

Anyone who knows me knows I love a good guitar lick and I get a classic 80s rock vibe from the riffs to the titular track. It’s a good start to the album.

Catacombs is the first full track and it has more great guitar lines and some funky vocals. I love the lyric ‘in the catacombs, the bones of who you were.’ The entire chorus is a great metaphor for someone changing.

Latest single HOW 2 FEEL is catchy.

The calming introduction to Under That Smile is lovely and it builds well into the main track, with the vocals and guitar work sharing the spotlight well. The same can be said for Mirror Image with the vocals. I love the lyrical idea here, speaking about how someone is a mirror and revealing themselves. It’s a strong song.

River is also a right bop. It’s catchy and has me dancing around.

This really is an album where the guitars are an absolute masterpiece. Almost every track has a sick riff. You would be forgiven for thinking that this is at least a sophomore album with how tight and well put together it is, so it’s a very strong debut.
