Chief Keef and Katy Perry Work It Out On The Remix

Remember 2013? It was the age of “Get Lucky,” Modern Vampires of the City, Yeezus…and an infamous Chief Keef and Katy Perry X-neé-Twitter feud. Whether you recall that last piece of music history or not, the two artists on either side of it do—and now, they’ve decided to lay their decade-plus-old swords aside on a new version of Perry’s song, “Legendary Lovers.” Listen to “Legendary Lovers (Save Me)” below.

To back up a little, the rapper and singer-slash-amateur-astronaut got into their online scuffle over a 2013 post Perry shared about Keef’s song “Hate Being Sober,” the title of which she said made her “have serious doubt for the world.” After the rapper responded with a threat to “smack” Perry, she apologized for offending him, noting: “I was really just having a general opinion on our generations…desire to be constantly intoxicated.” In turn, the rapper apologized for his own response, and the dialogue seemed to wrap up there.

Not quite! Cut to yesterday, May 27, and Perry and Keef were spotted hanging out (and even exchanging a hug) after she attempted to “summon” him on TikTok. The same day, Perry also shared a video of her dapping up the rapper set to “Legendary Lovers” with the caption: “Legendary link-up.” “Legendary Lovers” originally appeared on Perry’s album Prism.

Perry shared her most recent album, 143, in 2024. Keef’s latest project, Skeletor, arrived in April.
