Kelela Can’t Work it Out With A.K. Paul on New Single “Outta Time”

Kelela has released another song off her upcoming album New Avatar. Called “Outta Time,” it features guitar and vocals from A.K. Paul, brother and frequent collaborator of the enigmatic musician Jai Paul. In the track’s accompanying video, Kelela and Paul sing to each other in a studio, confronting the end of a strained relationship as night falls. Watch the clip below.

The New York-based singer-songwriter first wrote the track while she was creating her 2017 album, Take Me Apart. “I sat with that song for so long, and it’s literally untouched,” said in a statement. “I waited because I needed to build a house for this song that gives its sound more context.”

Out on July 10th, New Avatar will be followed by Kelela’s first international tour since 2023.
