Man Dies After Falling at Goose Madison Square Garden Show

A man died last night (June 20) after falling during Goose’s show at New York’s Madison Square Garden (MSG). The NYPD told CBS News that they found the 51-year-old concertgoer unconscious and responsive around 10 P.M. He had fallen from MSG’s 300 level, which sits on an elevated platform above the stadium floor. The man, identified by police as Paul Kueker, was taken to Bellevue Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

In a statement to CBS, Madison Square Garden said: ”While we await the police report on the tragedy at last night’s Goose concert, we are deeply saddened by the loss of a fan’s life at Madison Square Garden. Our hearts go out to the family and friends of the concertgoer.”

Goose’s Friday night show was part of their ongoing “Big Tour,” which continues tonight in Central Park as part of New York’s annual SummerStage series. In a statement shared to Instagram earlier today, the band said they were “deeply saddened and heartbroken” to learn about the Madison Square Garden incident. “We extend our deepest sympathy to everyone affected,” they wrote. “Thank you to the emergency personnel and venue staff who stepped in with care and support.”
