Listen to the Rolling Stones’ Song With Robert Smith

During a recent press event announcing the new Rolling Stones album, Mick Jagger recounted the unexpected recruiting he did one day in the studio. “There’s this bloke standing there with his back to me with this long gown on,” Jagger said. “And when he turned around, he was covered in lipstick. And I said—I’d never met him before—‘You’re Robert Smith of the Cure!’ He said, ‘Yeah!’ And I said, ‘Well, while you’re here then, you better go and do something.’”

That something is “Divine Intervention,” one of two cuts off the forthcoming Foreign Tongues that features the Cure frontman. Well, supposedly features; I’ve listened to it three times now and still can’t hear him, but maybe you’ll have better luck. Check it out below. The track arrives with another fresh Tongues song, “Jealous Lover,” along with an Amazon exclusive music video starring a tussling Anya Taylor-Joy and Charles Melton.

Foreign Tongues is out July 10.
