The Lizzie Maguire star is currently out on her global Lucky Me Tour
Throw all your hands up: Hilary Duff brought out Good Charlotte during her show at New York’s Madison Square Garden to perform pop-punk classic “The Anthem.”
“Can you please give the warmest welcome to my friends Good Charlotte?” Duff asked the crowd at her Lucky Me Tour stop. Benji and Joel Madden then took the stage alongside Duff and her band to showcase the raucous track, off Good Charlotte’s 2002 album The Young and the Hopeless.
Duff announced her tour earlier this year in support of her most recent album, Luck … or Something. It kicked off in June and included two dates at Madison Square Garden. She’ll next head to the U.K., before the tour concludes in Mexico City on Feb. 12, 2027.
Duff returned to music late last year, when she released her comeback single “Mature,” followed by “Roommates.” Luck … or Something, which dropped Feb. 20 via Atlantic, marked Duff’s first new album in over a decade, after 2015’s Breathe In. Breathe Out. She kicked off 2026 with the Small Rooms, Big Nerves Tour, where she performed “What Dreams Are Made Of,” from 2003’s The Lizzie McGuire Movie, for the first time ever.
The singer notably dated Joel Madden from 2004 to 2006. The pair have remained friends, and often hang out with their significant others, Duff’s husband Matthew Koma and Madden’s wife Nicole Richie.
“I have a good relationship with their whole family,” Duff told Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live in 2023. “I think people were like, ‘What?’ We’re neighbors and we actually hang out all the time. I was just in her driveway honking for her to come drink wine with us the other day.”
