Daft Punk Are Now Lego

We’re probably no closer to a Daft Punk reunion five years after the duo broke up—this despite completely unfounded rumors plus a run of legacy-building post-breakup projects—but now you can at least pretend Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo are playing at your house thanks to Lego’s latest collection. The Daft Punk set can be traced back to Covid lockdown, when a father and son from Luxembourg suggested the company recreate the duo’s 2007 Alive Tour pyramid stage. A rendering of that model can be found below, along with the DJ duo’s official Lego minifigures. Bangalter and Homem-Christo now join the Beatles and the Spice Girls in the annals of musicians who’ve become plastic bricks.

“The pyramid stage is one of the most recognisable expressions of Daft Punk’s visual world, so it feels fitting that this fan-created design will be centre stage of this partnership,” longtime Daft Punk creative director Cédric Hervet said in a statement. “Fans have always played an important part in Daft Punk’s story, and we are excited to see that creativity reflected through the LEGO universe.”
